Cookie notice

One cookie. No tracking. Nothing else.

Last updated: 15 May 2026

The short version

This website sets one cookie: NEXT_LOCALE, which stores the language you've chosen (English, Russian, or Ukrainian) so the site can remember your choice on your next visit. That's the only cookie. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which generates an anonymous server-side fingerprint hash for each visit - nothing is stored on your device, and visitors cannot be tracked across days, sessions, or sites. Other than NEXT_LOCALE, no information is stored in your browser. There's no third-party tracking, no advertising, no profiling. No third-party scripts of any kind. Nothing is stored in localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, the Cache API, or any other client-side storage technology.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser to remember information about you — your preferences, session state, or behaviour across pages and visits. Many sites use them for analytics, advertising, login sessions, and A/B testing. This site does none of those things. The only cookie it sets is NEXT_LOCALE, which stores a single value: the language code you selected.

What this site actually does

When you click the language switcher in the header, the site sets a NEXT_LOCALE cookie containing one of three values: 'en', 'ru', or 'uk'. The cookie is read on subsequent visits to remember your preference and show the site in your chosen language. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (regulation 6), this is permitted without prior consent because it is strictly necessary to provide the language preference you explicitly requested. The cookie has no other purpose, contains no personal data beyond the locale code, and is not shared with anyone. When you submit the survey, your answers are sent directly to a database (Supabase, hosted in the EU). That request does not involve any additional cookies. Vercel Web Analytics, which is enabled on this site, generates a server-side fingerprint hash from your IP address and User-Agent (rotated every 24 hours) to count anonymous page views — it does not store anything on your device, does not link visits across days or sites, and does not use cookies or any other client-side storage. Vercel Speed Insights is also enabled and measures Core Web Vitals (loading time, interactivity, layout stability) using native browser APIs; the readings are sent to Vercel anonymously, are not associated with any visitor or IP address, and likewise do not store anything on your device. Beyond NEXT_LOCALE, your browser does not store anything locally from this site — no other cookies, no localStorage entries, no IndexedDB databases, no service worker caches. There is no session token, no persistent identifier, and no tracking pixel.

If that ever changes

If I ever add anything beyond NEXT_LOCALE — for example, analytics or A/B testing — I will update this notice first, implement a proper consent mechanism, and tell you clearly what is being used and why. Until then, NEXT_LOCALE is the only cookie this site sets.
